Automated Investing
A bot buys the dip whenever one of a selected group of ETFs or crypto coins drops in price over the past 24 hours.
How it works
- Reserves. Each ETF and coin holds its own cash reserve, topped up by a fixed amount once a day.
- Price change. If the price went up, nothing happens and the reserve keeps growing. If it went down, a proportion of the reserve is spent on a purchase.
- Proportion of the reserve. The further the price drops, the bigger that proportion.
-
During a bull run the reserves keep growing, so even a small dip triggers a large purchase. This avoids cash drag in a hot market.
-
During a bear market the reserves are drawn down steadily, a slice at a time. This avoids catching a falling knife in one go.
ETFs
Eleven ETFs, one for each sector of the economy, so no single corner of the market can dominate the portfolio.

Every 0.25% of decline commits another 5% of the reserve. A drop past 4.74% — rare for a broad sector fund — spends the reserve entirely.
A fund's reserve is sitting at $12.40 and it closes the day down 1.10%. That lands on the 1.25% rung, so the bot commits 25% of the reserve: a $3.10 buy, leaving $9.30 in the reserve.

The same ramp stretched four times wider, because coins swing much harder than an index fund. Here each 1% of decline commits 5% of the reserve, and a 20% day — or worse — spends the whole thing.
A coin's reserve is sitting at $8.00 and it closes the day down 6.4%. That lands on the 7% rung, so the bot commits 35% of the reserve: a $2.80 buy, leaving $5.20 in the reserve.
